Server goes on vacation 1-2-06

About 24 hours after launch of this site the hosting company in Boston decided to take a breather - I doubt it was directly related to www.selskc.net but the timing IS suspicious. Perhaps we overload the system which is actually the SAVVIS Data Center and hosts Lycos as well as ICDSoft with its 100,000 account and many others. Seem a little far fetched that a dozen or so visitors in a day might bring down an empire but still the timing IS suspicious.


Anyway, SAVVIS was down and consequently this site was down for about six hours on Tuesday 1-2-06. All's ok this evening - outages such as this are rare, very rare. i've used ICDSoft for four years on two other site and this is the first noticeable down time.
May never happen again - may happen tomorrow. Sort of like tornadoes.
